Website of the week – superb free resources from http://mikegershon.com/resources/
In particular, ‘Plenaries on a plate’ is a colourful Plenary tool which has the merit of providing the teacher with a selection of different plenaries that require no further preparation. It is mainly intended for KS3 I think but could be used across all key stages. The teacher asks students to pick a plate/colour. When the teacher clicks on the chosen coloured plate they are immediately taken to a plenary. The ideas range from the sensible to the interesting and occasionally to the slightly wacky but the resource is editable so can be tailored. Some of the ideas require a bit longer to implement but there is zero preparation time required so this is a case of minimum prep maximum output. If the first plenary is not suitable then simply chose another. It gives an element of student choice and provides a range of activities so can be used to freshen up lessons.
